Race Course Information

Both races start and finish at Deppen Brewing in Wellington, CO. The Half Marathon is an out & back course consisting of half dirt (~7.5 miles) and half asphalt roads (~5.6 miles). The 5k course is flat and fast and runs through the neighborhoods around the brewery consisting entirely of asphalt road.

START TIMES:

9:00 am – Half Marathon

9:15 am – 5k

Half Marathon Time Limit:
3 hours and 30 minutes (average pace of 16:03 per mile) for the half marathon.

TIMING:
Both races are chip timed.

ROAD/LANE CLOSURES:

  • Wine Cup Rd (Frontage Rd to Globeflower St) – 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • CR 56 (Frontage Rd to Hwy 1) – 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM (Accessible to CR 56 residents ONLY)

Lane Closed:

  • Frontage Rd (Southbound) – GW Bush to CR 56, 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM

Traffic Stops & Delays:
Expect temporary delays at these locations:

  • GW Bush & 3rd St (5K crossing) – 9:15 AM – 10:15 AM
  • CR 56 & Giddings (CR 9) (Half Marathon crossing) – 9:15 AM – 12:15 PM

Drop Bags

It’s always a good idea to bring some warm/dry clothes for after the race as you can get chilly once you cool down. There will be gear/bag check at the Green Events truck.

Bring your own small bag.

**Please note that any items discarded along the course and at aid stations will be donated to local charities after the race.**

Aid Stations

There will be 7 aid stations for the Half Marathon and 1 aid station for the 5k.
Aid Stations will be located at the following distances along the course (approximate):

Half Marathon Aid Stations:

Aid Station #1 ~ Mile 1.2
Aid Station #2 ~ Mile 3
Aid Station #3 ~ Mile 4.5
Aid Station #4 ~ Mile 6.5
Aid Station #5 ~ Mile 8.5
Aid Station #6 ~ Mile 10
Aid Station #7 ~ Mile 11.9

*There will be a portable toilet available at each half marathon aid station

 

5k Aid Station:

Aid Station #1 ~ Mile 1.5

Each aid station will have water, Skatch electrolyte drink (lemon-lime flavor), first aid supplies, and communication to the finish and EMS.
Please carry your own personal preference for on-course calories (gels, chews, beans, bars, blocks, etc).

Reminder – We are a Green Event! Please help us keep the course clean & drop any gel packs and trash you may have at the aid stations.
